Inpatient Technician

Fran S.

Fran is originally from New York. She and her parents recently moved to Florida in order to escape the cold winters. She joined the FAH team in July of this year. Originally from Long Island, Fran has been living in Florida for the past two years in order to keep close to her family. Guided by her love of animals, she majored in Veterinary Science Technology and graduated from the State University of New York at Delhi in 2008. She is both a Licensed Veterinary Technician and a Certified Veterinary Technician. A cat person at heart, Fran shares her home with Wendy, Peter and Figaro, who all enjoy eating, napping and tussling with each other. When she's not working (or making sure Figaro doesn't eat something he shouldn't), Fran enjoys baking treats for her FAH family, needle felting, cross-stitching, reading and playing video games. Fran’s love of animals guided her toward a career in veterinary medicine. She majored in Veterinary Science Technology at the State University of New York at Delhi and graduated in 2008. That summer she passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in New York. Since arriving in Florida, Fran has also obtained her Certified Veterinary Technician status. Fran previously worked at the North Shore Animal League and then at a specialty hospital on Long Island. Fran loves all kinds of animals, but admits she is a cat person at heart. She shares her home with three cats, Wendy, Peter and Figaro. When she is not working, Fran enjoys baking, reading, video games and needle felting.
